RIOS: Building a Practical ESG Reporting Platform for Nigerian Companies
RIOS is a multi-tenant ESG reporting platform built to help Nigerian companies collect sustainability data, benchmark performance against recognised reporting frameworks and communicate their results to different audiences. Rexta Technologies built the platform as a connected product ecosystem, covering public-facing marketing, authenticated company workspaces and a dedicated API.

Challenges
Existing enterprise ESG platforms were designed around Western multinational organisations and often carried a level of complexity and cost that did not fit many Nigerian businesses.
RIOS needed to make recognised ESG frameworks practical without stripping away the seriousness of reporting.
Different companies needed isolated workspaces within the same SaaS environment.
Sustainability information needed to move from uploaded data into meaningful scores and reports.
Reports could not be one-size-fits-all because board members, employees and communities consume sustainability information differently.
The platform needed secure movement between the public website and authenticated application.
Our Approach
We built the platform as three connected environments: a public-facing experience for discovery and sign-up, an authenticated workspace where companies manage their sustainability data, and a service layer handling scoring and report generation.
Each company was given an isolated workspace so their sustainability information remained entirely separate from other organisations operating on the same platform.
Uploaded data could be mapped to specific ESG indicators and benchmarked automatically against GRI, TCFD and IFRS S1/S2 frameworks.
The reporting system was built to produce different documents for different audiences: a board-level summary does not need the same structure as an employee or community report.
Generated reports carried each company's visual identity, making them suitable for direct distribution without additional formatting.
Results
RIOS launched as a purpose-built ESG reporting platform for the Nigerian market.
Companies can upload sustainability information, benchmark against recognised frameworks and receive traffic-light indicator scores.
The platform generates audience-specific reports rather than forcing every stakeholder into the same document.
The three-application architecture provides a foundation for the product to operate as a scalable SaaS platform.
RIOS gives Nigerian sustainability teams a practical digital environment for organising, assessing and communicating ESG performance.
