Dubai Avenue Scents

The Solution
Dubai Avenue Scents is a Nigerian luxury fragrance brand selling nine rare 50ml compositions. The ordering experience was intentionally WhatsApp-first: no cart, no checkout, no payment gateway. Customers fill an order form, orders save to Supabase, a confirmation email goes out, then WhatsApp opens so the team can finalize the order personally.

The Problem
The client wanted the intimacy of WhatsApp-based selling combined with the professionalism of a luxury e-commerce website. Building a three-app architecture (storefront, admin dashboard, backend API) that felt cohesive and secure, while keeping the ordering experience simple enough for a premium customer base, required careful UX planning and architecture decisions.
How We Solved It
We built three separate Next.js 14 applications: a public storefront, a secure admin dashboard, and an Express backend API. The storefront used Framer Motion for page transitions and custom JSON-LD for SEO. A WhatsApp deep-link builder pre-populated order details into the chat window. Orders were persisted to Supabase with Row Level Security. Security hardening included Helmet.js, CORS whitelisting, rate limiting, and secure cookie flags.
The Outcome
Dubai Avenue Scents launched across all three apps with a consistent luxury brand experience. The platform handles orders, sends confirmation emails, opens WhatsApp automatically, and gives the admin team full order visibility. It set a new standard for how Nigerian luxury brands can operate online without a traditional checkout.
