WIME Awards: Building a Digital Platform for Celebrating Women in Maritime and Energy
WIME Awards recognises women driving leadership and innovation across Africa's maritime and energy sectors. Rexta Technologies built the platform to do two jobs at once: give nominees and awardees a credible digital stage, while providing the event team with a practical registration and information hub for the annual ceremony.

The website needed to feel worthy of a formal professional awards ceremony.
Nominees needed to be presented as people with meaningful careers and achievements, not simply entries in a database.
Award categories required enough context for visitors to understand what each recognition represented.
The platform needed to support registrations as the event approached.

Our Approach
We structured the website around the story of the awards rather than treating it as a simple event announcement.
Award categories were given detailed descriptions and criteria.
Nominee profiles were presented with titles, organisations and biographies.
A marquee-style nominee presentation created movement and visibility across the platform.
Registration calls to action were positioned around the event journey.
Sponsor recognition was incorporated into the platform to acknowledge the organisations supporting the initiative.
Results
The WIME Awards 2026 platform launched ahead of the event at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The platform provided a central destination for nominee recognition and event information.
The registration journey was incorporated directly into the website.
